magazine research
Heat is a British entertainment magazine published by Bauer Consumer Media. As of 2004 it is one of the biggest selling magazines in the UK, with a regular circulation over half a million. Its mix of celebrity news, gossip and fashion is primarily aimed at women, although not as directly as in other women's magazines. It also features movie and music reviews, TV listings and major celebrity interviews. Heat began in 1999.

this particular cover has the title of the magazine at the top and in the centre. this is typical of all magazines. the cover is colourful and bright, with one main screaming headline, "skinny's scary comeback" this draws the readers attention straight to the headline and the pictures that accompany it. there are smaller headlines and stories around the main one, but attention is still drawn to those because of tghe clashing colours that make the whole cover seem mis-matched and chaotic. its this clever trick that makes you believe there is so much going on in the magazine.
